OMA: a duo builds an academic multimedia organizer for engineering students
Artur de Sousa Vieira and Luíza Esteves dos Santos defended at FCTE/UnB an undergraduate thesis introducing OMA — Academic Multimedia Organizer — aimed at Campus Gama engineering students.

Notebooks, PDFs, class recordings, whiteboard screenshots, WhatsApp links: the material that sustains today’s engineering student’s learning is scattered across formats and locations. The undergraduate thesis defended in February 2025 by Artur de Sousa Vieira and Luíza Esteves dos Santos attacks this chaos with a specific piece: OMA — Academic Multimedia Organizer, under the advising of Prof. Ricardo Ajax Dias Kosloski .
The application is designed for Engineering students at Campus Gama and solves a problem as practical as it is invisible: gathering class notes in one place, adding media by type, tying each piece to context (course, topic, week). Treating the problem as a real project case gives the thesis the useful character of a complete exercise — from needs elicitation to deliverable product.
By pairing active learning with software architecture , OMA offers a small but useful piece of infrastructure for a generation of students whose academic life must be digital without becoming clutter.
