A junior enterprise, a live experiment: an undergraduate thesis evaluates gamification applied on the ground
Ateldy Borges Brasil Filho defended at FCTE/UnB an undergraduate thesis evaluating gamification applied in a junior enterprise — an organization with rotating teams, short cycles, and high initial motivation.

Gamifying is easy; measuring whether the gamification is working is another story. The undergraduate thesis defended in May 2021 by Ateldy Borges Brasil Filho tackles the second problem by running a practical experiment inside a junior enterprise — a student-run organization where rotating members, short cycles, and initial enthusiasm create both an ideal lab and a nontrivial challenge. The work was advised by Prof. Cristiane Soares Ramos .
The work departs from an acknowledged gap in the literature: there are many descriptions of gamified projects, but few clear instruments to evaluate them once they have been running for a while. Without appropriate metrics, teams are stuck with intuitions about engagement — which is insufficient to decide whether to keep, extend, or overhaul the strategy.
The research articulates performance indicators tied to the gamification elements implemented and shows how to use them in a real organization. It is a typical exercise in Gamification — whose maturity depends precisely on the collective ability to measure effects that today are asserted by feel.
