AgroMart evolves: an undergraduate thesis opens the source, adds payments, and manages co-farmers

AgroMart was born in a hackathon at FCTE/UnB with a clear purpose: bringing family farmers closer to consumers. A year after the first version, Byron Kamal Barreto Correa and Igor Guimaraes Veludo defended in May 2022 an undergraduate thesis that pushes the project on three fronts at once — advised by Prof. André Luiz Peron Martins Lanna .
The first push is open-sourcing. Turning AgroMart into free software is not merely symbolic: it is what allows other initiatives — university, community, rural extension — to adapt the solution to their contexts without depending on the original authors. The second is payment integration, without which the platform remains a demo rather than a tool. The third is co-farmer management, a feature that copes with the collective arrangements typical of family farming — where production splits paths and the software has to follow along.
By taking on these three fronts, the thesis continues a project that has already crossed several student generations and connects Green Software with digital transformation guided by social impact.
