Accessibility tools and an ageing Brazil: an undergraduate thesis compares what the market offers

As Brazil ages and more services move from counters to web sites, digital accessibility stops being a specialty and becomes infrastructure. The undergraduate thesis defended in September 2024 by Daniel Barcelos Moreira and Juliana Pereira Valle Gonçalves enters through that door with a practical question: which market tools, today, actually help audit web sites with the senior user in mind? The work was advised by Prof. Cristiane Soares Ramos .
The work does not begin with the evaluation itself — it begins with the tools that perform it. It compares their proposals, measures overlap between them, discusses what each one manages to capture and what systematically escapes. That meta layer lets readers choose in an informed way: no single tool works for every context, and picking the wrong one means paying dearly for a report that fails to translate the real problem.
Operating at the intersection of software quality and population ageing, the duo continues a line running through several 2023 and 2024 CEDIS theses — evidence of a research concern consistent with a problem demographics keeps sharpening.
