FTV Scout: an undergraduate thesis brings performance analysis to footvolley
Felipe Direito Corrieri de Macedo defended at FCTE/UnB an undergraduate thesis introducing FTV Scout — a system for notation and performance analysis of footvolley athletes and teams.

Footvolley grew from Rio’s beach boardwalk into dozens of regional circuits across Brazil — and, like any rising sport, begins to demand from technique what intuition can no longer sustain alone. The undergraduate thesis defended in December 2025 by Felipe Direito Corrieri de Macedo enters through that door with a concrete proposal: FTV Scout, under the advising of Prof. Ricardo Ajax Dias Kosloski .
The system offers notation and performance analysis tailored to the sport — not as a generic adaptation of volleyball or football tools, but with attention to the rules and dynamics specific to footvolley. The work takes seriously the instrumentation of a sport that still operates without consolidated statistical infrastructure and, in doing so, shows that the value of digital transformation rarely sits in the loudest agendas — it often sits inside specific communities willing to experiment with technique.
The result is a useful tool for coaches, athletes, and circuit organizers — and an example of how an undergraduate thesis finds a real problem when it listens to the communities that play.
