Forms that teach law: an undergraduate thesis models legal flows in Google Forms

Democratizing access to legal information first requires solving a paradox: those who most need to know have the least time and the least technical vocabulary to navigate dense texts. The undergraduate thesis defended in September 2024 by Guilherme Rogelin Vial and Lucas Braun Vieira Xavier attacks that paradox with a low-cost tooling choice, under the advising of Prof. André Luiz Peron Martins Lanna .
The work leans on a curious methodological choice: using Google Forms as the interface to build legal flows. The decision shifts the technical task to a platform familiar to lawyers and instructors — who can model decision paths without depending on a programmer. The result is an instrument in which legal professionals design the journey of those consulting the service, turning fragmented knowledge into a navigable script.
By placing software architecture under the lens of legal education, the thesis signals a path to reduce content maintenance costs in a domain that changes every day — and that demands public, free, reusable access.
