Paper on DevDog accepted at the SBES 2026 Tools Track
The paper DevDog: A Gamified Web Platform for Teaching Code Smell Identification was accepted at the Tools Track of the 40th Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering (SBES 2026).

The paper DevDog: A Gamified Web Platform for Teaching Code Smell Identification, stemming from Luciano Ricardo da Silva Junior’s bachelor’s thesis, has been accepted at the Tools Track of the 40th Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering (SBES 2026).
The paper is authored by Luciano Ricardo da Silva Junior, Prof. Sergio Freitas , and Prof. André Luiz Peron Martins Lanna, both from CEDIS, and describes DevDog, a gamified web platform that supports teaching code smell identification through interactive exercises, hints, rewards, and conceptual content.
According to the event organizers, the SBES 2026 Tools Track received 77 submissions, of which 66 were reviewed by a program committee of 72 members plus 6 external reviewers, resulting in 35 accepted submissions.
